Westerton Primary School Action Day – Friday 11th May

Westerton Primary School, Crarae Ave  have an ECOschools action day this Friday 11th May. They are looking for:

  • Anyone with an hour or 2 between 9.15 and 12 15 or 13.00 to 15.00
  • Planters,
  • Compost
  • Donations plants to plant in plantars (wildlife friendly and hardy would be better)
  • native bushes for wildlife garden
  • wheelbarrows to borrow for the day
Each class is to be accompanied by their teacher and spend 40mins picking litter and working on the garden

Cairnhill Woods Group – Fungal Foray, 8th October 2pm

On Saturday 8th October at 2pm you can join Mugdocks fungi specialist Alan for a Fungal Foray, same starting place between 102 and 104 Henderland Road. All welcome.

Westerton Gala Day 2010 – 28th August

Westerton Gala day 2010 will kick off at 11:30 with the Gala Queen’s parade making its way from Wheatfield to Westerton Hall. There will be some vintage classics – both cars and characters.

As ever the playing fields will host a range of activities – including the whacky races and pony rides. There will also be music music and dance to keep you entertained.

Westerton Tennis Club will host games and activities, including the Kid’s corner for younger ones. The Brownie hut will be tranformed into a tearoom for the day.
Westerton Hall will again host the craft fair, incliding jewellery, hand-made toiletries and fair trade goods.
